At Libre Unschool's Eco Theater Camp, campers spend two weeks at the Washington Street Gardens, the Subsistence Kitchen, and the Flyover Social Center immersed in fun improv theater studies, environmental workshops, and producing an original play.
During the two week session, we learn about historical Utopian experiments that hoped to transform human relationships with the environment and society. We explore ways we can exist as a part of instead of apart from our ecosystem and, through the magic of improv theater, we will imagine what kind of eco-utopia we'd like to create.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Campers will spend at least half the time outdoors.
Please prepare for sunny days, rainy days, muddy days, and HOT days. We will have plenty of refreshing water, flavored water, and/or herbal tea.
Campers MUST bring a sack lunch.
We are unable to provide lunch at this time. We intend to have am/pm snacks available, but if your child is often hungry, please send extra snacks. We can accept healthy (sugar free or low sugar) donations of snacks for the entire camp.
Campers must bring a refillable/reusable water bottle.
Please provide sunscreen and a hat for your camper each day. We're happy to accept donations of extra sunscreen.
Campers may be tired and full of knowledge at the end of the day. Take some time to ask them about what they learned or what was their favorite part. We encourage campers to journal about their day each afternoon or evening. Please help them remember this exercise.
PERFORMANCE
While campers learn about utopia and environmentalism, they are also spending much of their time in improv studies. With the guidance of our mentors, campers will help write an original play, which will be performed on
Saturday, July 22
(in the Garden or in Flyover). Parents/caregivers, family and friends are all welcome and encouraged to attend!
